  1. I think living in an area without any lolita meets is somewhat liberating. I wear lolita, dolly, and fairy kei equally because there is no one else here who understands to styles to judge me for not sticking to one style. I also feel like I have the freedom to play around with my lolita ans not be so rule-bound.
    I think it's kind of annoying when lolitas out so much emphasis on meets because not every area has them!
    Sorry if that was off topic or anything ^^;

  2. Hehe, no problem!

    I personally started out in Lolita, mostly gothic, and gradually started moving over to dolly. A lot of the time though, I mix the two, but my outfits currently are leaning towards dolly. Dolly has more wiggle room for interpretation, but they definitely share a lot of style sensibilities.

  3. Ugh, I find it so annoying when people feel they have to "choose" between lolita and any other style... I mean, on the one hand, it'll be a huge drain on finances to wear every single alternative fashion, but as far as the mentality of "I can only be a lolita," it just doesn't make sense. You can still be a lolita and go to meets and belong to the community, but also wear dolly kei or mori girl or fairy kei. Trying new fashions is good for expanding your horizons and it can be refreshing to your fashion sense. Don't feel like you need to choose one or the other, just because you like both!

  4. Agreed. Do both.

    Lately I've been interested in fairy kei, too, in addition to dolly kei, mori, lolita, otome... ext. Even though it's a complete 180 of what I normally do.
