Inspiration Wednesday!

I haven't done an inspiration post in aaaaaages! Thank-goodness I'm feeling inspired today ;)

Girly but quirky details. I'm really enjoying just throwing weird girly things into my outfits, whether it be a doll head brooch or a baby pink cross. Above photos from ridsnap and the Grimoire blog.

I'm in love with over the top prints. Juliette et Justine, you're just killing me at the moment. Any of these paired with a printed or lace tight would be amazing!

Huge necklaces, always. All together! From Tokyo Fashion, the Grimoire blog and the Flasco blog.

Whimsical/extreme eye makeup and hair. YES.

My nails will not be plain ever again! (I don't know the source of these nail scans, but I'll post the full pages at a later date, they're amazing!).

Favorite Snaps of the Week

I've chosen these coords for the sheer simplicity of them. Basic looks, minimal layering, but still so very dolly. Perfection, and it illustrates that you don't need an entire closet of vintage or massive amounts of layers to achieve the look. These snaps also illustrate in a lovely way how accessories can really make an outfit in dolly kei.

Inspiration Wednesday

This week I've been taking my cues from Japanese Lolita artists. Whimsical details, completely over the top accessories, and ruffles on everything.

I've been pairing my usual "wide-eyed doll" make-up with super-accentuated blush and paler lips as well.

Verum Tights Update & a Great Find! Crown and Badge Salvage Co.

Firstly: Verum tights are finally available on the Grimoire Online Shop! Grimoire still only ships within Japan, so you will need a shopping service to snag yourself a pair. Grab the ones you want while you can, I've noticed that they seem to sell out almost as soon as they restock.

And today I just happened to come across an amazing jewelry brand called "Crown & Badge Salvage Co.". Each piece is made from unique (and often antique) items the designer, Tina Daunt, finds. As a result, no two pieces are ever the same. Click HERE for the Crown & Badge website. I find her pieces so inspiring and beautiful, I really hope you take a look!

Inspiration Wednesday

This week I'm really into lace collars, and have been experimenting with making my own (the above is by Emily Temple Cute).

I've also been looking at some over-the-top embellished vintage coats, trying to decide what to do for a spring jacket. I bought a fairly simple one at a good price from H&M, and now I just need to gussy it up a bit.

I'm also back to my deer rings! I had stopped for a while, but I'm obsessed again (Photo from Vogue?).

Floral hair pieces. The bigger the better.

Inspiration Wednesday (on Thursday)

I fell asleep last night before I had a chance to post my inspiration collage for this week :(

I'm still obsessing over crosses, fur, and OTT accessorizing.

Inspiration Wednesday

So, I have a new collage app, and I've been experimenting with it for my weekly inspiration posts. Do you prefer these "inspiration collages", or the old way where I would just post a bunch of photos?

Hair Inspiration/ Innocent World Winter Release

I came across this lovely hair illustration on Tumblr today, I think these styles would be lovely with Dolly! Imagine them with some tassels, flowers, or other delightful hair pieces tucked into them!

I'm also excited for Innocent World's "Royal Classic" winter release. Look at the tassel-print border! This is going to be a must-have for me for my more Dolly-inspired Lolita coords. This jsk would be so amazing with an embroidered cardigan, patterned tights, faux or vintage fur stole, and a great hat and boots.

Some Random Japanese Magazine Scans

I found this on Tumblr through SocietyCottontail (follow him!). Scan from Kansai's Girl Style Summer 2011. Great ideas for hair accents!

Adorable makeup tutorial from Majolica Majorca cosmetics. So soft and cute, and versatile for so many styles!

We obviously need furry hats.

Favorite Snaps of the Week

This is actually going to be " Favorite Snaps of the Last Three Weeks". And we have:

Heri from the Grimoire blog. Everything about this is perfect dolly kei to me. I especially live the rich colours.

Miyoshi, Grimoire Almadel blog. Just really cute.

Saki, Grimoire. I like the more mature route she took here. You could easily wear this to work or school.

Miyoshi again. I love the hat and the transparent skirt.

And...more Miyoshi! Everything about this is adorable. Understated and simple but the hat brings it to over the top!

Kaori, Grimoire blog. Just love this, great layering, again, love the hat!

Saki, stripped bloomers, enough said! From the Grimoire blog.

I think this came from shiftsnap. At any rate, it's crazy and amazing.

I know, I know, this is really more cult party. But I love it so I'm posting it anyhow. From DropTokyo?

Again, we're verging on cult party here but it's adorable and therefore being posted. From DropTokyo?

Goodness it was hard to pair this down to just these choices!
