Happy New Year!

Because crammed, crowded and chaotic vintage and antique stores make my heart go pitter-patter:

Back from Holiday! A Coordinate!

So, I'm back from my wonderful Christmas holiday, with lots of things to take pictures of for this blog! I'm still in relax mode though, so in the meantime, I'll post this little coordinate I did today:

Some Christmas things because I'm feeling festive!

So now that I'm off from wortk for three days, I can appreciate the festive feeling a little more (helps that it's Christmas Eve as well I suppose). Sipping chocolate, eating some delicious shortbreads, and everything smells like my Christmas tree. And some tiny snow flurries! Delightful!

I've been collecting images of victorian Christmas greeting and postcards:

I love the one with the birds!

My favorite Christmas song: The Pogues & Kirsty McColl "Fairytale Of New York"

And just for fun: My Christmas list if I could have whatever I wanted, no matter how expensive:

1)A Judith Leiber purse. I do not have words for how much I want one. Too bad they run about 3000$, hahaha.

2)Vivienne Westwood Pirate Boots. Someday, I WILL have these. I don't know how, but I need them. Around 800$

3)Moi Meme Moitie Divine Cross JSK special edition (the special gold version). I WANT IT NOW.

4)This crazy bow dress by Marc Jacobs. It's insane and that is what makes it so glorious. Also, I can't resist anything with a giant bow. 568$.

5)This jacket from the Viktor and Rolf for H&M collection. It came out years ago so unless I want to spend thousands on ebay, I can't get it *sadface*

Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you all have a safe, healthy, happy and wonderful time :)

Decor, Lovely Finds, Harajuku Lovers "Lil Angel" Gothic Lolita Perfume review, Dolly Kei coordinate with a simple black dress.

Lots of things today, with many photos illustrating why I need to get my Nikon fixed and stop using my Blackberry phone camera.

So I had lovely surprise gift in the form of Gwen Stefani's "Harajuku Lovers" Brand perfume in "Lil Angel Gothic Lolita". Now, I'm a sugary scent sort of girl. I like things that smell sweet and border on candy-like. So I was very surprised to find the floral scent of this so appealing. It also isn't terribly strong or over-powering, so a huge thumbs up for that. "Lil Angel Gothic Lolita" is described as "a sparkling floral. Top notes are succulent plum, champagne, pomelo, bergamot. Mid notes are blooming lotuses, fresh queen rose leaf, waterlilies. Base notes are satin wood, rich amber, skin musks. The fragrance is signed by perfumer Céline Barel.". I can't say I smell the musk or wood notes at all (and I think that's a good thing). I wouldn't make this my everyday scent, but I think it's a nice change and I do think the scent is really lovely. And I mean, the bottle is adorable! It's nice if even it only serves as a vanity decoration, hehe. Retails for around 40-50$

Also given to me: These great antique skeleton keys! They're going to be necklaces. Right now they're serving as desk decor though.

I know it's close to Christmas, but that doesn't mean I can't buy myself presents:

Went to Wicker Emporium for their delerium-inducing 50% off sale. Splurged on a new tea cup (there was an entire set, including saucers, sugar bowl, creamer, teapot and tea caddy. I will be returning!) About 3.50$ on sale:

Also from Wicker Emporium, a lovely little handheld mirror that I couldn't pass up to save my life. Abou 5.99$ on sale:

And for a good cause, from Winners: This year the Canadian Women's Association are selling a delightful old-fashioned teddy bear, with all proceeds going to help women in need. I'm going to make him a little cravat and monocle. 14.95$

And...some Polyvore coordinating. I wanted to show what could be done with a very simple black dress, which is something most girls own of course.

Made another, oh Polyvore, you will never get boring.

Lovely Finds: Luggage and...a blow dryer??

So I was on my weekly Winner's hunt, when I came across this gorgeous luggage set from XOXO:

"Stacking" Russian nesting doll video game

"Stacking" is a video game I just discoved in which you solve puzzles and make progress by stacking with other russian nesting dolls and obtaining their "powers". The graphics are very vintage-inspired and absolutely gorgeous. Here's the game trailor:

Dolly Kei in all Black, Elizabeth

Because I love Polyvore, and because I firmly believe you can do Dolly kei all in black is you mix your textures and patterns right.

And I'm sitting here watching "Elizabeth", probably one of the best historical dramas ever made (in my opinion anyhow). Elizabeth details the early years and rise to power of Queen Elizabeth the First, played by Cate Blanchette. I'm not even sure how many times I've watched it. Amazing story, stunning visuals, there isn't anything I can critisize about this film. And the costumes, oh my goodness...

"Elizabeth" was followed by "The Golden Age", which documents her later life.

Victorian Christmas Cards

I was scouring the internet for images from Victorian Christmas Cards and postcards today, and found some really pretty ones. I love the innocence and detailing. This one's intricate lacey edge is so lovely.

Some Things for your Viewing Pleasure...Birdcages in Art.

Something I've always been sort of visually obsessed with is birdcages. I have no idea why. I just have to collect interesting pictures of them, jewelry and birdcages themselves. Here are some that have been collecting on my computer:
