Grimoire "White Christmas" Party

Photos from Grimoire's "White Christmas" party are up!

The party was Saturday night, and featured infamous Tokyo Dj Leon CandyCane. The first 100 guests also received the newly designed Grimoire eco totes.

As per usual, the Grimoire staffers were dressed to the nines with elaborate dresses and even more elaborate hairstyles.

Grimoire Almadel Debuts New Dolly Tights Brand, "Verum"

Today the Grimoire Almadel blog debuted the newest Dolly Kei brand from Grimoire, "Verum". Verum is a selection of tights in antique and vintage inspired prints, and they run in lighter and darker colours.

These are the "Vitrail", a beautiful stained glass print, and definitely my favorite from the collection.

To see detailed print shots and the whole selection, CLICK HERE

EDIT: translate is now working! According to the Grimoire blog entry, the tights will be available in December and the prices are yet to be announced.

New Accessory Brand Available at Grimoire Almadel

Brand new to Grimoire Almadel is "Vicious Sabrina", an accessory brand which integrates science, bone, insects, oddities and antiquities into medallion/medal-like brooches and pendants.

Each piece is unique, hand-made and one of a kind. The Grimoire blog calls them "surreal and delicate" and " a surreal world of little poisons".

Vicious Sabrina's site describes the items as "accessories of curiosity", which I think is a great way to describe them since each is like their own little cabinet of curiosities. In tiny scale of course, hehe.

Some of their pieces use actual bone and insect, while some of them have vintage prints as a centerpiece.

And of course, the Vicious Sabrina display in Grimoire Almadel is just as gorgeous as the pieces themselves.

Grimoire 3rd Anniversary Party at Chambres d'Hotes HANA

Above photograph by Akihisa Okumoto.

Last night saw a celebration to mark the 3rd anniversary for Grimoire, as well as marking the opening for it's sister store, Grimoire Almadel. It was a bit of a costume party, so you'll find everyone's outfits a bit exaggerated and over-the-top even for Dolly Kei.

On the main Grimoire blog, the post on the event (posted by Kaori?) is giving a lot of thanks, and definitely appreciative of the support from fans and customers over the years. It also says the dj was really good, everyone was dressed really well, and the dancing was really great. That the party was lively and felt like a dream. It also says that FRUITS documented the event as well, so hopefully we'll see some snaps from them as well!

Click here for the entire Grimoire blog entry and more snaps!

The Grimoire Almadel blog also has an entry on the party, posted by Hitomi. She thanks everyone, and says she and the staff were very surprised and happy about the turnout and how lovely everyone was dressed.

The Grimoire Almadel blog also has a complete outfit snap and rundown for each Grimoire/Almadel staff member. There's one for everyone, but my favorites are:

Heri, "Lady Knight in the Dark"

Easily one of the most gorgeous hair pieces I've ever seen.

Saki, "Deep Night Dancer in forest"

She definitely went a bit risqué with this look. I was surprised when I saw it, but she looks amazing! And again, another amazing hair piece.

Kaori, "Golden Phoenix"

I love how she looks a bit Marie Antoinette-ish.

Click here for the entry on the Grimoire Almadel blog, including the rest of the staff snaps!

And just because: This was Hitomi's hat!

Click here for Hitomi's DropTokyo blog entry. DropTokyo.com itself has some great shots as well.

I love looking back at the anniversary party snaps from the last three years, and seeing how Dolly Kei has developed and evolved over this period. As well as how the personal styles of the shop staff have changed and become so uniquely their own. Here's to many more years of Grimoire and Dolly Kei to come!

New Grimoire Almadel shop girl.

Just a quick little post! Apparently Grimoire Almadel has added a new shop girl to their staff, and her name is Miyoshi. And she's adorable!

No information other than her name, but it does say that she's "kind and gentle". Her style seems very soft and girly, I'm looking forward to seeing what her coords will look like.

Grimoire Almadel Interior Snaps

I was thrilled to wake up this morning to a second post on Almadel's blog, consisting mainly of decor snaps! I couldn't wait to post them here and share!

This is the fitting rooms:

So I have to say, I am so in love with Almadel's decor! It's like a strange Victorian home filled with clothing and accessories. I also find the original Grimoire shop has a decidedly more "foresty fairytail" feel to it, where Almadel has more of a "Victorian curio" feel. But at the same time, I definitely think the contrast between the two shops is complementary.

This is the display case for the Reinette et Mirabelle brand.

The opening of the Almadel also introduces us to a new Dolly Kei accessory brand, "Rathiel du Dolly", which according to Hitomi, aims to be less sweet, and more classical, myth, constellation and jewel themed.

There is more interior snaps, some accessory shots, and coord snaps on their new blog entry: Click here!

Also, if you can read Japanese or have a good translator (yesterday I was using Babelfish to no avail, but this morning I switched over to Tap-Translate for iPhone and everything makes much more sense now, hehe), the new post also has Hitomi talking about the decorating process for the new shop.

So what does everyone think of the new shop so far? Do you like the toned-down decor, or were you expecting the beautiful clutter of the original Grimoire?
